Missions
Research, analyze, and coordinate environmental legal issues at all levels
within the Army and DoD
Work as an integral member of USAEC technical teams
Provide support to USAEC on fiscal and contract law, ethics, FOIA, and other
administrative law areas
Deliver technical assistance to environmental attorneys at Army installations.
Regional Environmental Offices, legal centers supporting IMA Regions, and
MACOMs
Environmental Attorney Focus Areas
9 Environmental Restoration Programs on
active installations, as well as BRAC and
excess lands
9 Installation compliance with major media
statutes regulating air emissions, drinking
water quality, waste water discharges, and
toxic chemicals
9 Hazardous and solid waste management,
with emphasis on munitions and ranges
9 Conservation (e.g. endangered species, and
natural and cultural resources) and NEPA
9 Environmental legislation and regulations
affecting military training and operations
Major Directions
* Support expanded USAEC role in the
Environmental Restoration Program
* Enhance joint team approach to legal issues with
the Army's Environmental Law Division
* Team member on all range encroachment issues
